The brief
A semi-detached house in Stapleford with a small, closed-off kitchen at the back and no direct link to the garden. The owners wanted a single-storey rear extension to create an open-plan kitchen-diner with bifold doors, rooflights for natural light and a kitchen island at the centre of the room.
We took the project from footings through brickwork, roof and rooflights, bifold doors, plastering and flooring to the finished kitchen, then laid a new patio, steps and lawn so the extension opens straight onto the garden. The work ran over 12 weeks with the family living in the house throughout.
