Slate patio and external works in Wollaton
The brief
A Victorian house in Wollaton with a large rear garden and no usable space directly outside the kitchen. The ground was uneven, part grass and part bare earth, and water pooled against the back wall. The owners wanted a wide patio running the full width of the house, with a border for planting and proper drainage.
We cleared and levelled the ground, laid a compacted sub-base and installed a linear drainage channel along the house wall with a recessed inspection cover set flush into the paving. The patio was finished in mixed grey and rust slate slabs and tiles with a brick edge to the planting bed. Two weeks from start to finish.
