The brief
A courtyard garden behind a newly extended house in Beeston, with a rough concrete base left after the build and nowhere for rainwater to go against the new sliding doors. The owners wanted a clean porcelain terrace at the same level as the inside floor, with proper drainage along the glazing.
We cut in and set a linear channel drain along the full run of the doors and around the corner, bedded it on a concrete haunch, then laid large-format grey porcelain slabs on a full mortar bed with a recessed inspection cover set flush. The terrace was finished in a week, level with the threshold inside.
