Marble tiling, kitchen and painting in Nottingham
The brief
A town house in The Park, Nottingham, with a tired kitchen and a double-height hallway opening onto a glazed rear extension. The owners wanted one dramatic grey marble-effect floor running from the hall through the kitchen, a handleless gloss kitchen with a dark stone island, and the whole ground floor redecorated.
We stripped the old floor back to the slab, laid an uncoupling membrane and set large-format marble-effect porcelain on a levelled bed with matching tiled skirting. The new kitchen was fitted with a book-matched island and under-cabinet lighting, and the walls, ceilings and tall hallway were painted in a soft grey with white trim. Five weeks from strip-out to handover.
